Standby Generators

Some consumers may choose to have a standby generator in the event of an extended power outage caused by inclement weather such as severe ice or wind storms.

The Cooperative’s Marketing Representatives can help determine the size needed to satisfy individual consumer requirements. Financing is available through ElecTel Cooperative Credit Union, which has representatives on site at the Hillsborough, Roxboro and Caswell offices.

All standby generators should be equipped with a double-throw switch to be installed by a licensed professional.
